JITKA ČECHOVA studia al Conservatorio e all’Accademia delle Arti di Praga, perfezionandosi successivamente a Friburgo e Parigi. Jitka Čechová ha vinto numerosi concorsi internazionali tra cui “Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte” di Ústí nad Labem (1986); Concorso Smetana di Hradec Králové (1986, 1988 and 1990), Consorso Chopin di Mariánské Lázně (1987 and 1989) ed il Johann Nepomuk Hummel Competition a Bratislava (1991). Le sue performances come solista sia in recitals che con orchestra l’hanno vista nelle più importanti sale da concerto e teatri di Austria, Francia, Germania, Scozia, Spagna, Bulgaria, Inghilterra, Sud Africa e Giappone, ospite di importanti istituzioni orchestrali quale l’Orchestra sinfonica di Monaco, la South-Western Radio Simphony Orchestra,e l’orchestra sinfonica di Bamberg.
Durante una tournèe in Germania ha promosso il concerto per pianoforte e orchestra composto per lei da Zdeněk Lukáš ottenendo un successo incredibile. Già pianista del trio Smetana, affianca alla sua carriera solistica un impegno assiduo nella musica da camera. Ha inciso per Intercord, Supraphon, BMG, Koch Internationale, Lotos e Cube. Interessante è il suo contributo nella registrazione di 7 cd dell’ opera omnia pianistica di Smetana per la Supraphon.

Cercivento rises between Valcalda and the But Valley, where the wind circles – curcum ventum, as the Latin goes. The town embraces some of the most beautiful and oldest residences of Carnia, like the Citars (1577), Tiridin (1634), Morassi (1690), Vezzi and Pitt houses. The most popular places of interest include the parish church of San Martino, the first written mentions of which date back to the early 14th century.
The town presents the project: “Cercivento: una bibbia a cielo aperto” (Cercivento: an open-air Bible). This comprises three themed, biblical paths (ten essential moments of salvation history, the way of Mary, the way of Mercy) and three works (the Universal Judgment, the Good Samaritan, and the Transfiguration) made of mosaic, photoceramics and paintings, and exhibited on the walls of private homes and public buildings. Sacred Scripture becomes a cultural journey and one of spiritual reflection, promoting the architectural beauties of this little village.
