Invillino is one of the oldest villages in Carnia, the only hamlet in the municipality of Villa Santina. On the hill, Col Santino, stands the parish church of Santa Maria Maddalena, among the oldest in the archdiocese of Udine. The present church, with a Romanesque style, dates from the 15th century and is believed to be the work of master Stefano of the late Simone of Mena, a carpenter from Venzone. Inside of the church, there is a wooden polyptych by Domenico from Tolmezzo, Friuli's greatest 15th-century carver. The town of Villa Santina is also renowned for the production of distinctive linen textiles, carpets and tapestries.
