Sauris – Zahre in the local idiom – is a wonderful mountain village sprinkled with typical houses, meadows, and pastures, whose green valley is dominated by the Dolomite peaks that are reflected in the lake waters. The name of the town is linked to that of its delicious prosciutto, which is lightly smoked according to the traditional recipe. The local beer is perfect for drinking with the prosciutto. Charming landscapes and the particularities of the local dialect, as well as the Carnival, make Sauris one of the best loved Alpine pearls.
