The deanery church of San Daniele Profeta is located in the main centre of Paluzza. It was built in 1736 and consecrated in 1745. The church’s construction is simple, with a soaring bell tower. It preserves various frescoes in the presbytery – the Evangelists – and in the nave – Symbols and Virtues –, the work of Antonio Schiavi in 1754.
The altarpiece depicting St. John the Baptist who holds up the lamb in his right hand, is by the Udine painter Giovanni Antonio Agostini, signed and dated 1593. The old organ is worth a mention: it was built in 1760 by father Giacomo Sellenati from Sutrio for the church of Santa Maria in Paluzza, and transported here in 1913 when the other church was destroyed.
