Sauris, or “Zahre” in the local dialect, is a stunning mountain village dotted with traditional alpine houses, mountain huts, and pastures. Its verdant basin is surrounded by Dolomite peaks that reflect on the waters of the lake. The name of the village is linked to its exquisite cured ham, lightly smoked according to the recipe of the Sauris tradition. The ideal pairing for this ham is the locally brewed beer. Enchanting landscapes and the uniqueness of the local dialect, beyond the traditional Carnival, make Sauris one of the most beloved alpine gems.
