Forni Avoltri is the most northern of the Friulian municipalities. It rises along the banks of the Degano river and is part of the splendid district of the Carnic Alps. The name of the town appears for the first time cited in a deed of donation dating back to 778 AD. One of the most interesting walks is the one that leads to the Wildlife Oasis and Bordaglia Lake, in addition to the route for discovering the old mines of Mount Avanza.
