The Madonna di Raveo Sanctuary was built following a vision of the Madonna that occurred here in 1619. The devoted population immediately got to work building a church dedicated to Mary’s maternity. It was located along an old cobblestone street that connects Raveo to Valdie, Luvieis, and Pani, in a stopping place where pilgrims found rest and refreshment. Over the centuries, the Sanctuary became very popular due to the handing down of miraculous events linked to the resurrection of some unbaptized babies.
