Paluzza is a well-known holiday resort, with cross-country skiing trails; it is also perfect for hiking and other sports in the summer. The paths unwind both in open grassy zones and dense fir woods of evocative beauty. Upstream of the town, a defensive system called Castrum Muscardum formerly rose up there. Today, only the Moscarda tower remains, which was built about halfway through the 13th century. It is now the home of exhibitions linked to the region, which spread across three rooms, arranged vertically and connected by an internal staircase.
