Carniarmonie will end with the third concert of the Apollon Quartet, which has spent the summer in an artistic residency on the occasion of the 2023 festival. We will be able to hear Dvorák's "American" quartet, composed in a small town in the United States populated by Bohemian immigrants, where the composer - who was particularly attached to the folkloric motifs of his homeland - also inserts accents and thematic elements from American folklore. The second part includes a performance of Mozart's Quintet for clarinet and strings, one of the best-known works of his last period dense with ethereal inspirations and unforgettable melodies.
Built in 1781 with an unusual octagonal shape, the work of architects Domenico and Angelo Schiavi from Tolmezzo, the Piano d’Arta parish church is worth a visit. As is the church of San Nicolò degli Alzeri, erected in the 13th century next to a refuge for soldier monks and pilgrims heading for the Holy Land.
