The name “ploč” – which in the Triestine dialect means “puddle” or also a confused, dirty, and disorderly mass – remained to represent the musical choice of this cross-border trio (whose members come from the mixed Italo-Slovenian area between Trieste, Udine, and Ljubljana): a journey through ethnic music, ranging from Balkan melodies to world music and original compositions.
It is an ethno-jazz trio that blends the sounds of the Balkans, klezmer, blues, jazz, tango, and much more into a single emotion, where the influences remain distinct but inseparably intertwined. Three musicians of high artistic and technical caliber, with vast experience in all musical fields, have performed as a trio at numerous festivals and events across Europe, including some of the most prestigious: Premio Andrea Parodi – Quartu Sant’Elena, Festival Lent, Szentgotthard Jazz Festival, Rosenthal EtnoFest.
