Un inno alla libertà d'espressione lungo le tappe della vita tradotte in musica
An original project in which the sound of the cello and the piano blend together to form a single sonic and timbral body, giving life to eight romances without words. It represents a journey through the stages of life, where ancient cherry trees symbolize the wise masters who show us the path to becoming who we truly are.
Often, throughout the unfolding of the pieces, the cello part reaches into the higher registers, as if yearning for the free flow of the wind, in an extreme cantabile that is echoed - or at times contrasted - by the elaborate texture of the piano part. This ongoing dialogue between the two instruments is the guiding thread of the entire work: a path that leads the listener into a realm rich with inspiration, clearly and ethereally influenced by Eastern aesthetics, yet also marked by themes with more tangible, earthy, and raw sonorities.
It is a journey worth taking - carried by warm, seductive melodies and extreme lyricism - into a musical genre that is difficult to define, but all the more captivating for the passion, depth, tenderness, and emotional intensity that make it so refined and original, as it evokes depth, empathy, and love.
Church of Santa Giuliana
Built in the 15th century, the church of Santa Giuliana in Fresis hosts a wonderful, complex cycle of frescoes in the old choir, the work of Giulio Urbanis (1588) from San Daniele. Fathers and doctors of the church, prophets and evangelists are depicted in the vault, while the walls display the doctrine of the apostles, sacred scenes and figures of saints. The main altar dates back to 1624 and is made of engraved, painted, and gilded wood. Saint John the Baptist, the Madonna and Child, and Saint Juliana are painted in the three niches.
