This enchanted place, Sappada, has many peculiarities. In particular, these include its shape, divided into fifteen hamlets, some older, some newer. You can admire many old houses here, in particular in the hamlets that form the oldest part of the town. Another characteristic feature is its dialect, a variant of the Austrian dialect that remained intact over the centuries, so that Sappada is called Plodn in the local dialect. The main resource is tourism and there are numerous activities for summer and winter entertainment: skiing and sports facilities, refuges, and Alpine trails.
