The rare combination of our instruments has never been a limitation, but always a creative and expressive stimulus that encourages us to transcend the boundaries of the existing repertoire." The program offers a heterogeneous musical journey, alternating masterpieces of the tradition with contemporary works. The expressive refinements of Monteverdi and Tchaikovsky are paired with the folk-inspired motifs reworked by Bartók, creating a balance between lyricism and rhythm.
The compositions by Deiana, Nodari, Kramer, and Farrell broaden the horizon with contemporary languages, rich in tension and experimentation. This results in a dialogue between eras and styles, where the common thread is the search for an authentic emotion, capable of transcending time and revealing the depth of the musical experience.
The Duo Confluence has won several Chamber Music awards, including the IV Concorso Città di Belluno, XV Concorso Città di Treviso, and XX Concurso Internacional de Música de Cámara CIMCA in Arnuero. They are currently studying at the Conservatory of Lyon.
On this occasion, the Civic Archaeological Museum Iulium Carnicum will be open to the public from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Parish Church of San Pietro in Carnia
Founded a few decades before Christ along the right bank of the Bût stream, Zuglio, whose name was originally Iulium Carnicum, is an ancient Roman center established most likely during the proconsulate of Julius Caesar (58-49 B.C.). The mother parish church of San Pietro is of admirable beauty, and its present Gothic style, with a single nave and three altars, was commissioned in 1312 by the Patriarch of Aquileia.
Inside we find the wooden altarpiece of St. Anthony the Abbot, in Renaissance style, enclosed in two Baroque frames and attributed to Gian Domenico Dall'Occhio, and the high altarpiece by Domenico from Tolmezzo. The wooden Christ from 1550, located in the lintel of the main arch, measures nearly two meters in height and is the work of a northern workshop. Outside, the portico has undergone some renovations, but the Romanesque mullioned window survives. The plateau that you encounter at the beginning of the climb, toward the parish church, has a very ancient history; every year, the rite of the "Kissing of the Crosses" takes place here on the occasion of the Ascension.
