The ensemble presents a repertoire predominantly consisting of original compositions within the modal jazz framework, which focuses not so much on a stylistic genre like bebop or swing, but rather on a harmonic approach to composition rooted in George Russell's 1950s text "The Lydian Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization." The first musical album labeled as modal was the renowned "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis, and subsequently, his closest collaborators (John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock) expanded the genre in all its facets. The presented pieces will have an eclectic character, featuring swing rhythms, odd and compound times, bossa nova scansions, and occasional funky hints, unified by the same harmonic approach and ample space for improvisation.

Forni di Sotto was once famous for its mountain architecture with stone houses with wooden balconies. Having risen from the ashes, today it is a completely new town, where the only testaments to its past are the 19th-century fountains of Tredolo, Baselia, and Vico boroughs. Like nearby Forni di Sopra, the town is a summer and winter resort. Part of the municipal area belongs to the nature reserve of the Friulian Dolomites.
