Classical Harmonies and Folk Melodies
The program includes some fundamental pieces from the string quartet repertoire, including one of the three quartets commissioned by the Russian patron Andreas Razumowsky to Beethoven, the famous American by Dvořák. The latter is a tribute to the United States through "folk" themes invented by the composer, which, however, possess an evocative and pictorial nature due to the use of the pentatonic scale - an element characteristic of the folklore of various geographic regions, from Slavic music, Irish music to African-American music, particularly spirituals.
The Quartetto Rêverie was formed in the class of Maestro Paccagnella at the Conservatory of Trieste and continued under the guidance of Maestro Franchin. In 2024, they won third prize at the international competition "Lilian Caraian". In 2024, the quartet was selected to join the network "Le Dimore del Quartetto".
Church of the Santissima Trinità
Oltris means “beyond”, i.e. on the other side of the Lumiei river. This is the etymology of the village perched above Ampezzo, whose name appears for the first time in a 1260 document entitled “In Carnea in villa que dicitur Oltras”. In contrast, the church of the Santissima Trinità dates back to 1766, erected on an older votive church. Inside, you can admire an ebony and mother-of-pearl cross from the 18th century and a Madonna and Child from the early 1800s, the work of Francesco from Manzano. The village also preserves the characteristic shape of the medieval village with an elegant fountain at the centre of the little square.
